Tree Pruning Time

Pruning Trees Is an Art.
My son learned to prune trees from his Dad and Papa. Will it get passed on to his son?
Others On our farm have tried and the trees have produced little to no fruit.
So What does it take to prune a tree so it may produce fruit?
Patience, an eye that can see branches growing in the wrong directions that block the life giving sun from the other leaves and branches. An eye that can stand back and say, How can I help you bloom and produce fruit and please The Maker. It takes practice and hard work. And in time there will be a sweet harvest.
I'm thankful for the pruner in our family!

CALLING IN THE COWS

TODAY I WENT INTO THE BACK NORTH FIELD TO CHECK ON THE COWS. AS SOON AS THEY SAW ME THEY CAME RUNNING THUNDERING HOOFS, BELLOWING LOUDLY. THEY THOUGHT I WAS GOING TO FEED THEM.

Sweeetpea

Our spotted goat Sweetpea is back.
She was given to our veterinarian friend to save her life.
After about a year we were asked if we would like to
trade her back for chickens. So we traded her back for
four chickens. Good trade!!! Except they say she's en
escape artist.

River runs swift

The river is four feet from the top of the dike, and is supposed to rise another three feet tonight so we are hoping it wont flow over and flood our fields.

David shot a rodent with His twenty gauge shotgun the other day, it was on top of some dibrise in the river(That was fun).

There are a few homes around town that are surounded by water from streams over flowing.
Anyway it's interesting to see the river.

November 1, Cold Snap

Everything was covered with frost this morning including the cows.
When the grass freezes the nutrition is lost. It's time to start feeding Hay.

Steer Roping

Today the cows got out. My dog, Scout and I had to round 'em up. We had quite a time. It was kind of fun anyway.
